This book is intense, haha. I bought it for my 2 year old who is taking an interest in bugs, thinking he’d find this book really cool. He likes to look at these types of books while in his car seat. Well, when I handed him this book, he was horrified and kept yelling ‘ewww!’ and getting more and more upset the longer he looked at it. We had to physically remove the book from him to continue the car ride. Let’s just say the pictures are amazing, a little too amazing. Very bright, colorful, realistic, and honestly hard to look at for some. It had litttle facts in big print through out. I’ll reintroduce this when he’s a little older. :)

Lots of colorful photos, a lot of facts, but not every page contains the name of the spider so it is annoying as a parents bc I can't name the spider to my kids as I'm describing facts. I actually prefer Nat Geo's animal kingdom book which goes into 4-5 pages on a single species. It is more comprehensive. That said, my son loves looking at the pics so he's satisfied.

Loved how informative it was. Great for kids and adults. Pictures were great and quizzes fun to do together. Thanks for such an enjoyable issue

My 2 year son loves spiders, pictures are great, i only wish they would give the names of all the spiders. They name some of them, but my son wants to know EVERYTHING.

Got this for my 2.5 year old granddaughter who had suddenly developed a fear of spiders. It's a wonderful book for older children, full of cool facts and colorful photos. But some of the photos are ferocious, and the book is clear about spiders as killers. Definitely not appropriate for my little one. But I can imagine a 7 year old boy or girl - who is not afraid of spiders - loving it.

My niece loves bugs and especially spiders (blek) but I knew she'd like this and she loves it, good illustrations and info for her to use as she grows up and learns to read it herself.

daughter loved it.... great pics and colors, i even learned a few things! :)

I am a kindergarten teacher and we used this book to do a study on spiders. Perfect age appropriate information. In fact, my grade level partners and I use the Nat Geo Kids non-fiction books for other units of study as well.
