My almost-3 and 7 year old both absolutely love this book - and so do I! :)Each time we read it together, we spot new and interesting elements in the illustrations (like how one animal rolls into the next page...a bit of foreshadowing!). Thea last pages are really interesting as they detail each animal which made an appearance in the book with a corresponding number - which tells you the animal's name and whether it is endangered, threatened, ok, etc. My son (who will turn 3 next month) wants me to read this over and over and over again. My daughter (7) said she loves this but "They All Saw A Cat" had more depth and was more interesting to her. I love this illustrator's Bugs and Beastly Babies books, but I think this one might be my personal favorite due to all the colors and animations on the animals' faces. This would make a great baby shower gift (with a name like Hello Hello -- and the book's beginning focus on black-and-white illustrations, which I think babies supposedly are most captivated by at first? Although the book quickly changes to colorful animals). It is also great for that 2-4 year old age with its focus on opposites - and older (5+) for learning the animal names. LOVE IT. I struggled with whether to buy this or take it out from the library, but I'm glad I bought it and now will buy They All Saw A Cat since I didn't realize what a huge impact that one had on my daughter. :)
I was first introduced to the They All Saw A Cat book by the same author (Brendan Wenzel) which is an awesome book. When I searched Amazon for other books by Brendan, I found Hello Hello and I quickly checked it out at the local library. My 2 daughters (3 and 7) LOVE this book! The illustrations are so beautiful and colorful and my daughters are learning about animals they've never heard of or seen before such as the pangolin (which is the most highly trafficked animal in the world and is on the verge of extinction!). At the end of the book, there's a list of animals (all kinds from not threatened at all to highly endangered). This is an excellent addition to your home library or a great gift to animal lovers!
This is my 16-month-Old grandson’s favorite book, and it is interesting and attractive enough to appeal to Granny, Grampy, Mama and Daddy through multiple daily readings. My only wish would be a board book version!
I loved the number of very different animals from all around our world, and then the pictures at the end of all of them identified was mesmerizing . It is a book that would be enjoyed by 1 year olds to 7 or 8 year olds. Beautifully written and superbly illustrated.
Wow! Such a colorful book with fantastic illustrations and a nice rhyme. We bought this book because of the pictures, so we didn’t mind that there are only a few words on each page. The author included the names of each animal drawn in the book on the last few pages, which was definitely a pleasant surprise!!
Wonderful book-favorite new Author!
My 3 year old son doesn't listen to a full reading of every single page in order yet, but he does enjoy looking at the pictures. He LOVES the back inside cover with the pictures of all of the animals and enjoys hearing me name them and repeating their names. I think it is very well done and would 100% recommend it to anyone with a child age 3-5.
I love this book as it brings awareness of endangered and amazing animals in the world. My only wish is that is had the latin names of the animals in the back where it lists the common name of all the animals. It was a quick favorite for my 1.5 year old who likes finding the fishes. I can't wait to watch him grow with the book and learn all the animals. Hopefully they will all still be alive :/
