This book has tons of useful information about the city and all of it is great for general background. I loved reading it on my Kindle while lounging around on a cruise ship, before we got to the city, but that's about as far as its usefulness goes. It is pretty worthless for navigating around the city and finding things to do, because it lacks both pictures and maps. Pictures are useful to give you an idea of what you would see and maps are useful to get you there. It is also too dense in information to be useful in deciding what to see when you only have a day or two. Perhaps it would help to give a brief summary of the top ten items and then give more detailed descriptions of each item separately. Overall, it was interesting, but not very easy to use, since the only way to navigate through it is by reading from front to back.
This is a very slight, slim pamphlet with no maps, no photos and a lot of generic text. If you spent 60 minutes online Googling Reykjavik, you'd be as well advised, maybe better. Typos and odd page breaks throughout.
I read this upon leaving Iceland after a wonderful 4 days. I wish I had had time to explore it before going. However, I agree with most of the positiver reviews. I have a map in my copy, and by accident I found many of the things mentioned. It clearly gives the flavor of Iceland and the places you should visit.
Such a short book that mostly gives web sites. It says to follow maps, but doesn't include any. You could find any of this information for free on the internet. A disappointment and waste of money
