A bit on the short side but enjoyable all the same. I do wish it had a bit more depth so that we could really Get a feel for the characters and the world building but what I saw of Chloe and Bran I liked. I did like the take on some of the fae we are used to seeing and it was a pretty original storyline. I do want to see what will happen next so I will be continuing into book two.
I love Bram's and Chloe's story! I can't wait to read more about how they bring War! I really enjoy CK's stories and I am so excited to see her releasing them again and quickly too ðŸ˜. Definitely check out her other work, her stories are addicting!
Remnants of Ash (Reign of Fae Book 1) is a strong and wonderful start to a new series about what happens when the fae decide to take over the world.C.K. Dawn had me hooked from the first chapter. I felt like Chloe and Bram had a good connection between them and it is slowly developing. No insta-love, or falling into bed in the first chapter. Not that there is anything wrong with either of those things, it's just nice to have some actual story to go with it sometimes. I also enjoyed reading about the Spree. It sounded fascinating, too bad it isn't real!If you enjoy books about fae, human, and witches then this is a good one to try.
The fae have come, and with their arrival they've brought the apocalypse. CK Dawn's Remnants of Ash is a compelling take on the biblical apocalypse. Her characters are real and fully fleshed out, the action throughout is on point, and the surprising twists the story takes are nicely weaved into the story. I especially loved the reveal towards the end, that was a twist I hadn't predicted. The others I could see coming--however, there's always a perfect turn to her twists that left me smiling gleefully at not having seen all of her surprises within said twists. Overall, it was a great short read that I can't wait to continue in the next book.
I have read pretty much all of Dawn's books. And for good reason. She draws you into the world's she creates seemingly without effort. And this was no different.I was drawn in instantly. I loved the story progression. The pace. The plot. The characters. The relationships. I just adored it all.It was very well written. Easy to follow. And enjoyable.And I want to blather on about all that's awesome about the book, but that would mean spoiling it for you. Just be aware that it is indeed an awesome read.I for sure recommend.
I am so very pleased to read more about CK’S Fae characters. I just get so wrapped up in the richness of her writing that I can’t put her books down. Way to go and keep up the chemistry between ur characters. I feel like I am there.
CK Dawn has done a wonderful job with this book. You get the feeling your there with Chloe and Bram seeing the vampire scabs eating away on the humans. Chile's father had been researching the changes in the world due to the Faerie realm. Professor Hadley an Anthropology and Mythological expert has the information they need. The story is fast pace with twists and turns that will surprise you.
I am wondering if this was self-published or if there was an editor involved. This story idea was very engaging however...there was NO character or plot development. At all. They meet and suddenly the scorch happens. Oh and then all of a sudden he loves her. Oh and then shes suddenly this badass fighter when she’s never used weapons. Oh gosh and the steamy sec scene came out of NOWHERE!! I really really wanted to like it. I think if the author had an editor to work through some of these things, this book would be an absolute hit with me. I’m glad it seems to be a hit with others.
