There were at least 5 recipes that had non-keto ingredients like: tortilla chips, saltine crackers, brown sugar and corn flakes. I've been Keto a long time and know what I can and can't eat. I'm not the most strict either but but these ingredients in a keto cookbook could easily confuse a beginner. Keto is NO grains, NO sugar and corn flakes and saltines are not ok. Some recipes did look good but I didn't make it that far into the book after seeing questionable ingredients.
I am baffled by the good reviews for this cookbook. I bought it because it said it was keto. It *may* be lower carb than the standard American diet but it is far from being keto. Either the author is misinformed on what keto actually is, or they’re outright trying to defraud people by labeling their cookbook as “keto.†There are ingredients like corn flakes and tortilla chips. At best these are unneeded carbs, at worst they’re trigger foods for people trying to stay keto.
I give this only 1 star because I had to! I was hoping for simple quick economical dishes from this book but I was disappointed!! I’m currently on a Keto diet and own a air fryer.. I thought this is a great idea.. but the dishes I saw in the book were not appealing to me.. honestly not even one!! I also didn’t want to go and have to spend lots of $$ on spices that I’ve never heard of. Where does she get her Keto info from?? I looked into this diet before I started and at the front of this book is a summy of things you can eat and drink.. it goes against what I read in my researches.. conclusion.. I’m very disappointed in these recipes was hoping for cheap and simple.. they are neither! I wish I could send this book back but I can not. I will not purchase anything else from this author!!!
Anyone that’s even half-assed keto would balk at the carb counts per serving in this book! Not to mention that it has ingredients that are not keto like tortilla chips and cornflakes. I’m going to send it back. It’s not complete keto anything!
These recipes and directions seem easy to follow and there are a lot of good tips and especially following this book, you can easily create nutritious and delicious recipes and i highly recommend this book. Keto Air Fryer Cookbook is awesome! I'm very pleased with this cookbook- I've tried three recipes so far (orange chicken, carnitas, and almond rice pilaf) and all have turned out excellent. The directions are well written and easy to follow. I'd like it if there were more pictures, but I still enjoy perusing the book and reading the recipes. The main reason I bought this book, rather than some of the other Keto Air Fryer Cookbook cookbooks available, is that this cookbook has recipes for more "ordinary" food. I've noticed a trend with Instant Pot recipes is for exotic dishes with specialty ingredients and unusual flavor combinations. This cookbook does have some trendy recipes but the majority of them are everyday classics. Lovely book! Nice one! I like it.
This cookbook is really well organized! I've had an air fryer for a while and have used it lots, but to make the same things over and over. I was a little intimidated by the keto diet, thinking it wasn't something I'd be able to do. This book has given me the confidence to try some recipes that I wouldn't have tried otherwise.
