I purchased this book for my 6 year old son. After reading several pages, I realized this book covers content that my six year has not been exposed to. In my opinion, this book is not for elementary school kids. This book is perfect for Junior High and High School aged boys.
I bought this One year devotional for my friends son for his Birthday. When he received it he was so excited! Great book for drawing closer to God so that anyone can change their minds about who God is, so that the reader will have a changed heart and life and in hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ God will draw people to Jesus, repent of their sins (Ten Commandments) and place their trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross and gain eternal life in Heaven and on the coming New Earth. (Please do not erase this, the boy I bought this for was extremely happy to receive this book). :D
My son loves the stories. Very relatable. Be sure.... for younger boys though, sort of that tween age (not too young, or older teens). But, overall, a fantastic devotional to begin teaching them to walk with God.
We had this book and lost it. I ordered it here and it was much cheaper. So yes, I bought this twice. All of my boys 8, 10, and 13 like this book. I think it is great for ages 4 to 12.
My boys (ages 8 and 10) love this devotional. We've had it about 2 years and it's stayed relevant. It's not babyish but not over their head either. Can't say enough how much we love it. We bought one for my 10 y/o's best friend.
This book of devotions, especially for boys has been a wonderful addition to our lives, and has helped me to instill christian values and character in my son in a way that he enjoys, and looks forward to. He is so enthusiastic, and pulls the book out on his own every night. He is eager to read the discussion questions, and actively engages in discussion. Often the scripture reading leads us into even broader discussions about God and his message and promise to us...and all that entails. I am very pleased to have this book, and will recommend it to anyone raising young boys.
My 9 year old has been enjoying this book. He surprised even himself because usually he doesn't really like to read for fun. But he is enjoying the stories and lessons in this book. He has shared with me a few times something that he has learned.
Bought this for my 8 and 11 year sons and it is age appropriate. Every day there is a story with a strong message (e.g. how little sins can turn into big sins). There's thought provoking questions and memory verse. Very well organized and just enough to keep attention of young boys. Recommended age is 3rd to 8th grade.
